Q1. What is the recruitment process in Al Fahim Group?

  • Once your application is screened and shortlisted, a member of our recruitment team will call or email you to schedule an interview. If your application is unsuccessful, you will receive a regret email from our recruitment team, informing you of the same.
     
  • Candidates are screened and short-listed on the basis of the job requirements, such as the level of qualifications and experience related to the position they are applying for. If you are successful, a member of our recruitment team will contact you to arrange an interview for further screening. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any additional questions you may have regarding the role.
     
  • Interview stages may differ from position to position. Typically you will be interviewed by HR (telephonic and/or personal), followed by a personal interview with the Line Manager. You may also be required to take-up an assessment, such as aptitude or psychometric test, depending on the role.
     
  • You will receive feedback within a week of attending the personal interview or assessment test. The recruiter will call you personally to provide feedback.
     
  • It takes anywhere from one to three working days to receive an offer. This depends on the seniority of the position and the location of the candidate; for example, local or overseas.
     
  • A member of our recruitment team will guide you through the documentation required to process your visa/work permit. Upon submission, we will regularly update you on the status of your residency and advise you of a tentative joining date.


Q2. When I am employed in ALFAHIM Group, what kind of entitlements / benefits am I eligible for upon engagament?

a) Travel Arrangments (Overseas employees)

  • Upon obtaining the Employment Visa of overseas located employee:
    • Copy of the employment visa will be sent to you by fax/e-mail.
       
    • One-way PTA (Pre-paid Ticket Advice) will be sent to you along with relevant information so as to enable you to collect the ticket from the concerned airline office in your home city. (Original passport, copy of the visa along with the e-Ticket information must be produced for collecting the air ticket).
  • Subsequent to collection of air-ticket and confirmation of the flight booking, you will be required to advise the Company of your flight details and arrival time well in advance in order to make necessary arrangements for your reception.
     
  • You must carry a copy of the employment visa while travelling.
     
  • The original Employment Visa will be placed at the ‘Visa Collection Counter’ (at the Immigration counter) at Abu Dhabi International Airport for you to collect upon arrival prior to proceeding to the Immigration counter.
     
  • Company representative will meet you at the airport and will drive you to the appropriate accommodation arranged for you.
b) Reporting To Duty
 
On your first working day you shall be required to report to the Human Resources Department with your original passport and visa. The HR Team will finalize the following formalities:
  • Code of conduct
  • Personal information
  • Bank Account opening
  • Life Insurance

c) Medical Examinations
  • General Medical Check-up: Upon reporting to HR Department and having completed necessary formalities, you will be taken for the pre-employment medical examination, which is arranged by Al Fahim Group.
  • Your employment will be subject to successfully passing the medical examination and issuance of the ‘Medical Fitness Certificate’ by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Heath in Abu Dhabi.
d) Induction Programmes
 
These programmes hall be arranged according to Company’s standards and regulations.

e) Contract of Employment
 
You will be required, after engagement, to sign the Standard Ministry of Labour employment contract in order to obtain the necessary approval and Employment Labour Card. The terms and conditions of this contract shall be identical to your Employment Offer previously issued to you by Al Fahim Group.

f) Residence Visa
 
Upon successfully passing the medical fitness examination your passport shall be submitted to the concerned Authority for your residence visa stamping on your passport. To reach to this stage the process takes 3 – 4 weeks from the time of your arrival.

It should be noted that you can formally avail the following amenities/services only after the residence visa has been stamped on your passport:

  • Rent an apartment
  • Obtain personal telephone/internet connections
  • Open a bank account
  • Apply for a driver’s license
Upon issuance of the residence visa, you can apply for your dependent’s visa(s). As per the current UAE immigration laws, only a person earning more than AED 10,000 per month can sponsor his dependents (wife and children below 18 years of age).

Following are the documents required to apply for dependent’s visa:

  • Copy of your residence visa
  • Marriage certificate (for wife) legally translated into Arabic*
  • Birth Certificates (for children)*
  • Passport copies of dependents
  • Salary certificate from the employer (issued by the Company)
*Certificates must be attested by the ministry of foreign affairs and the UAE embassy in your home country.

g) Identification Card
 
The Employee will be issued an Al Fahim Group identification card to be used internally for various job-related purposes.

h) Salary Payment
 
Monthly salary is paid at the end of each month, in arrears, by way of a bank transfer. You will be required to open a bank account and the details should be furnished to HR in order to coordinate with Finance for effecting salary transfer.

i) Advance against Salary
 
In order to meet your initial expenses, employee can avail an advance against salary upon engagement, which will be processed by HR Section upon the employee’s request. Such advance shall be fully recovered from the employee’s first month salary.

j) Advance on Accomodation Allowance
 
An employee who is entitled for Rent Subsidy as part of the contract is entitled to avail an advance towards personal accommodation as indicated in the offer of employment, subject to a maximum of 6 months subsidy. This advance, however, is paid only after residence visa stamping and upon providing evidence for renting accommodation.

Yes. Through ‘AFG Staff Discount Policy’, Al Fahim Group employees and their immediate family members can enjoy attractive discounts for products and services provided by Emirates Motor Company, Central Motors & Equipment and Western Motors.
