Message from the Chairman
One of the most memorable moments in the history of the Al Fahim family was last 2 December 2011 when His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, graciously honored our late father, Abdul Jalil Al Fahim (mercy upon him) and our family by presenting us the Badge of Honor on the 40th Anniversary of the UAE Union. We are tremendously grateful for this exceptional gesture from the President and Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council, for recognizing our willing efforts in shouldering the responsibilities of building the nation.Having said that, I also wish to congratulate the UAE for protecting its Arabic identity over the last four decades while achieving its goals and aspirations in technological advancements, ground-breaking engineering skills, the greatly admired fields of the fine arts and much more. Our path of success aligns closely with the extraordinary success of the UAE, which in the span of just four decades has crossed over from a simple Bedouin lifestyle to being an internationally highly regarded country with potency and popular focal points of global commerce. All these changes would not have been possible without the generosity governing the economic field and high-tech industrial development in the country, especially in Abu Dhabi.
As Abu Dhabi moves forward, we continue to support the country’s progress by servicing the needs of the new economy with excellence and by investing in the community and country as a whole. Al Fahim Group is one of the region’s most respected third-generation family-owned businesses and effectively parents eleven companies in various industries: automotive, travel and tourism, property investment, hospitality, industrial development and the oil industry. We are known as pioneers of the hotel industry in the UAE opening our first major project, the Holiday Centre – now known as the Crown Plaza Hotel – on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai in 1993. Today, we are the proud owners of Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel and Bab Al Bahr Commercial Tower located in the gateway of the capital.
